Republicans were overwhelmingly getting blamed for the shutdown.
There was no reason for the Democrats to cave to Trump on healthcare, except for the fact that they are wholly owned and operated by the health insurance lobby.

Everyone wanted the shutdown to end, but this isn’t the way. Caving to Republicans also has a cost. I have lots of amazing ideas for stories, but they’re all trapped inside my head. Like they’re locked behind glass so I can’t touch. Occasionally I like to go visit them - like seeing animals at the zoo.
But someday I’m going to break them all free, and let the wild things consume me.
