This book is incredible. The first chapter was about as dark as detective fiction gets, and this chapter had me laughing so hard I got a stitch in my side so bad I had to stop reading.

Another theme that is loud and clear in Bede is that everyone better be using the right calendar, and calculating the date of Easter the same. I’m 180 pages in, and there have been several England-wide and international disputes on this.
