I think generations get talked about so much because it's the last acceptable form of bigotry and a lot of folks secretly really miss making sweeping generalizations about vast swaths of people.

I once left a meeting at the Sheraton in Richmond Hill shortly after 4 PM, took YRT -> TTC -> Shuttle to YTZ -> Porter to YOW -> OC Transpo bus and was home in downtown Ottawa just after 8 PM. OCT has since cancelled that bus route and replaced it with 3 trains, but it was pretty cool at the time.

It's really disingenuous to attribute this to some amorphous "the left" and compare it to what happened after the 2020 election. Yes, there's a smattering of idiots, but to compare the two phenomena is nothing short of dishonest.
