Wondering if @robert.thecure.com wouldn't mind us being cheaky and giving us tickets for his upcoming tour. We have themed our wedding based on Friday I'm in Love.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social from my Facebook memories, from 4 years ago. It's a sad state of affairs in terms of the direction of travel we find ourselves, when in 4 years the poignance of this message seems to have increased ten fold.

Are we destined to make the same mistakes, over, and over again?

I reminded that the petition to revoke art 50 and stay in the EU got some 6m votes. Would be interesting to see a Venn diagram of the people who trashed that petition but exalt this petition.

People regularly tell us that the EU was angry about Brexit. No – that's not it.

Angela Merkel writes:

"To me, the result felt like a humiliation, a disgrace for us... This changed the European Union in the view of the world; we were weakened."

If you really want to encounter a lot of views different from your own, go read some books. You don’t need right wing assholes screaming at you on social media for that. This can just be a place where you chill.
