Sadly at least in Postgres, the explain plan is only accurate for the one query and its params at that moment. The same query with different params, or even just as cardinalities are recalculated during an analyze, and it may decide to run the query wrong.

I can’t imagine a worse idea than Mamdani giving verifiable details about his family members to the public. So much safer to keep it vague, still perfectly valid.

Federal minimum wage is largely considered a poverty wage as it is now, so setting a specific number is more about marketing to voters. An actual law could potential provide a more dynamic number that has been calculated to be 15 to start.

Federal minimum wage in the US is typically a floor, it wouldn’t bring down the minimum wages of the few states that are over 15 down at all.

Once there is a higher federal minimum, individual states can pass laws with higher ones if that state has a higher average cost of living.

Or winlink. Looks like you can’t run it on a Mac except through a compatibility thing with wine.

Yeah, 100%

I understand some stuff being closed source, but it feels like some “foundational” parts like “get the signal into an an audio channel on the computer” should be more accessible or documented.

I suppose I can always use usb, but that is one more cable to bring and noise generator.

All this to say that it feels like we could use some open source components underpinning more of this. I’m looking into the icon protocol, but it doesn’t look documented so it might be hard.

Those other apps also charge money, and there is one free one, but it only provides one interface and you need two! I think I can recompile it with two new app names and it will work really well for this.

This matters because as is, you have to use another tool to make a virtual soundcard, then tell SDR Control to output audio to the virtual, which then routes to JS8call.

Only problem is that the app is kinda pricey at $100. The app mainly bridges the proprietary icom protocol to provide control and audio. But the app can’t do all the things you want like JS8call, so it can provide the audio it gets to another audio channel. But it doesn’t make a virtual sound card.

The WiFi feature is really cool! But while it just does normal WiFi for the network, there is some kind of secret protocol for actually making the audio available. Icom only makes this for windows.

I bought this “SDR control” app for my Mac, which is a great app so far.

A doctor may have to prescribe, but they can prescribe many things without insurance approval.

If you have the cash, you can often bypass insurance and just get it. Can be expensive though.

Yeah, I’ve seen that momentum for sure. I just see the big focus on the new department of church and state, and can’t help but feel there will be a big church aspect to when we cancel public schools completely.
