First wave video from tent perspective
It started at 9:45pm with wind, rain, and thunder and baiscally kept up for the next 8 hours.
We had a few breaks but it never stopped raining, the wind never let up.
I feel so very lucky to have survived this.

Looks like my camping journey is probably over - my brand new (purchased in june) Coleman Weathermaster tent was destroyed by a 7-hour deluge in the Upper Missouri Valley yesterday.

Looks like my camping journey is probably over - my brand new (purchased in june) Coleman Weathermaster tent was destroyed by a 7-hour deluge in the Upper Missouri Valley yesterday.

Made it. Long day of driving. Not even close to being over but in the last 28 hours I drove from the arrowhead region of Minnesota to Minneapolis to Fargo to here. And will end the day in Montana, probably.

I love camping and being in the woods and the sound of the rain on my tent but I’m on the second week of a max 14-day stay in a state campground and need to move before 7/23.
Worst thing is striking camp in the rain. So… I guess I’m leaving Sunday.

Day one in the woods... Pretty sure I've dispatched 1000 mosquitos.
Also saw a snowshoe hare and a super tiny snapper that a USFS worker pointed out.

Found out today I’m still PNG at the fair and won’t be on their photo team :-/

While sitting at the boat launch on Picnic Island at Fort Snelling SP I witnessed a boater attempting to replace/install something missing from his outboard and, just like a trainwreck, witnessed him slide into the water head-first into the Minnesota River.

$50 fix for hood hinge now is $700 for hood, $50 for hinge, $1500 for fender (or body labor).
Coolant must be drained and refilled. 9.5qt = 2gal Dexcool ($50 + labor for flush)

Also... Google "randy johnson pitch bird" and the logo will make total sense.
That said here's a photo of a bird that was not blown up by a pitch yesterday. Great Blue Heron on Snelling Lake at Fort Snelling State Park (next to the airport you fly in and out of when visiting to the APM mothership).
