Designed some simple stands in Blender for my two original M.A.S.K. figures, and then 3d printed them. Nothing fancy, but I think it works nicely.

Yeesh, I haven't posted any art in a while. Updates have resumed over on Patreon, but I seem to have forgotten to also resume the regular free feeds. Whoops.

Anyhoo, we're back at it with Page 21 and 22 of We've Got Spirit: To Err Is Human... (Previous updates at #ToErrlsHumanWGS)

And my TARDIS is complete. I'm going to make a second iteration at some point with lights and just slightly larger (like 5%)
August 31, 2025 at 6:37 PM
All the bits of the TARDIS are painted, now to varnish it, apply the decals, and assemble it. Three layers of paint for the blue, a black base, a bright blue, and then that flatter blue. Hopefully that makes it feel a bit more worn and textured.

All the TARDIslS parts are finished, now to prime and paint everything. All the fitting tolerances are bang on, which I'm absolutely delighted about. From Blender to finished printing in about a day and a half, I'm really quite pleased with myself.

Getting back in the swing of things painting skin before I drive into some Batman 66 model kits I think I'm finally ready to tackle. This monster head I had lying around was a fun test subject for slopping some paint around on. The eyes are really vivid, but I'd never leave them that white.

Due to the figure being a bit bigger than I thought, and the scale of the display case, this ended up being a lot simpler build than I thought I'd be. I ended up going back over the dirt a few times and then hitting it with the airbrush for variance in colour.

Hi, Robert! I don't have any current sci-fi stuff at the moment, but I've got lots of retro stuff! If any of these catch your eye, or you'd like to see more, just let me know.

My current webcomic is up at www.wevegotspiritcomic.com/chapters/

Took a break from drawing and built the basic hangar doors. Still need to setup the glass and glass supports, but the main parts done. The size of the display case somewhat limits how these work (which is why the tops abruptly end) but I think it'll work out all right.

No, it's not just a pile of mud, it's the first step in my Rocketeer diorama build. The Diamond Select figure I've got is the movie one, so this will be where Cliff blasts off in front of the hangar. The ground is a mixture of matte varnish, water, and regular dirt. I just realized I meant to use...

Ages and ages ago, a buddy and I managed to each snag a set of the Lego blind bag Muppet figures. Now, there was never a theatre set released, but it turns out the Lego Friends line has a theatre set that isn't an exact match, but works really well, and I finally got around to building it today.

Think I'm going to stop updating Webtoon, they're way too deep in the AI trenches among other shady nonsense. But that's why I've got a website, right?

You'd think I don't draw outside of We've Got Spirit anymore, but really most of my sketching is just on my alt account at the moment.

For now, you're all stuck with my 3D printing experiments. Mwah ha ha! Just finished designing and printing this case for my Anbernic handheld.

Apparently drunk with power because the last one worked so well, I've defied the will of the gods and made a 4 cup upgrade to my bike holder.
June 8, 2025 at 3:38 PM
Congrats, and thanks for hosting!

I'm Ryan, and I'm usually drawing one of my free to read webcomics, Daisy Blackwood: Pilot For Hire, or We've Got Spirit.
June 6, 2025 at 9:06 PM
Okay, this ridiculous thing works better than I'd hoped. I'm going to make a 4 cup one next that's 2x2 and slides onto the rack's side rails so the bungee cords only stabilize it from sliding forward/backward.

That diorama post crushed the combined engagement of all the posts for this entire story so far, but tough luck, there's still lots of pages left and I haven't started a new diorama yet! Ah ha ha ha ha!

Finally got the Popeye diorama done after redoing all the water (which I'm much happier with), though I might put a fake sky in the back yet.

Might do the Darkwing one next, or maybe the Rocketeer. I definitely need to find some other space to stack these things.
June 4, 2025 at 10:13 PM
And today we test the new cup holders out. The little bits on either side are channels for bungee straps to fit into to keep everything held down, and make it all easy to pop on and off.

Decided I needed Gonzo from the original Palisades line, and after getting discouraged by the cost of shipping on eBay listings, randomly noticed my local store had a long weekend sale on, took a chance, and somehow struck gold!

Guess my Muppet diptych display is becoming a triptych.
May 19, 2025 at 8:33 PM
So, umm, I'm redoing the Popeye water. V1 (left) was several very thick pours of Modge Podge that hilariously still haven't dried after about a month. V2 (right) is several very thin layers that have been drying great! You can see the dark blue patches where it's in process of curing correctly. 1/2
