The Epstein files are important, but not releasing the economic data for October is damning. The economy has completely tanked and the Trump government is refusing to and or incapable of carrying out its basic functions. share.google/e726OJJXXxry...
October jobs report canceled and November release delayed, BLS says
Federal labor market data is a crucial part of understanding the U.S. economy — and one of the pieces the Fed analyzes in considering interest rate moves.

'...what happens to these companies’ bottom lines once consumers can no longer afford to buy their products because AI has taken their jobs? Well, I’m still waiting to hear CEOs offer a solution to that problem.'

Who is going to shop at Amazon once AI takes all our jobs?
Tech CEOs have been fond of writing love letters about generative AI, but they never seem to address the grim economic implications.

"Copyright laws are just property laws. You don't go into people's houses and then just take their furniture and their stereo and then flog it on eBay and claim that it belongs to you and keep the profit. That is literally what they are doing."

A brilliant piece from @dwhitehouse.bsky.social in The Fence, featuring this gem
‘Who was Coventry City’s FA Cup-winning goalkeeper in 1987?’, ‘Steve Ogrizovic’, she’d respond, two words they’d receive at a cost of a pound with their underpants a hammock between their knees.

I just purchased a ticket to see @pattonoswalt.bsky.social at the Union Chapel in London. Booking through the venue meant no extra fees. Booking through Ticketmaster would have meant paying an extra 10% 'handling fee'. Every gig goer should do whatever they can to avoid Ticketmaster.

Libraries are vanishing – but Essex fought back. Now, they're evolving into vibrant community hubs for the 21st century.

There have been 800 library closures nationally since 2010 – nearly a fifth of the total. In Essex, however, vigorous public campaigning stopped it. ❤️🙌

Happy "Microsoft trying to force CoPilot subs" day in the UK for all who celebrate.

(They just pinged me my renewal notice with it carefully worded to sound like a compulsory general price increase).

1) Go to your account page
2) Hit cancel
3) Change sub back.
