Thanos is not inevitable.

Stepping on a Lego when you're barefoot... that's inevitable.

Guy in his 50s has a stroke after consuming 8 energy drinks per day. And this is a surprise? I'm only surprised he didn't suffer a heart attack first.

So... how many months do we think #Walgreens will last under private equity? 6 months? 1 year?

Start applying elsewhere, people. You don't want to be the last person there locking up the store for the last time.

Can we all agree it was a good thing HBO got to finish Game of Thrones before Netflix would have Netflixed it up?

They should have named it the FIFA Piece Prize. As in, here's a piece of our soul.

Looks like the first thing I still have to do after installing visual studio is move the dreaded solution explorer to the left side, where hierarchical selections belong. (Big fan of VS Code directory based management.)

Well, so far AI has driven up electricity prices, driven up hardware prices, made job interviewing harder, and put downward pressure on wages. Who is this helping?

I may have coined a new phrase: hot potato testing.
Each person assigned to a test to perform asks another to do something with it and then avoids getting it back.

@vetsfighfascist.bsky.social I know you mean well by your bio, but because adjectives precede nouns, your display name sounds like you're a fascist who fights veterans and not a veteran who fights fascists.

My friend told me she always bakes muffins with her leftover cranberry sauce, and I was amazed that had never occurred to me.

So I looked up a recipe for cranberry coffee cake. Will be trying that tomorrow.

I don't want anything for Christmas. I own everything I need. Send a card to let me know you thought of me. Save your money for your needs and let Black Fridays and their ilk turn red.

Nobody should ever be guilted into gifting.

Not wasting my time following that back. I get amplifying a message, but I'd just follow the OPs.

Passed a company named Neutron earlier and looked up what it was. Sounded like a research lab. Disappointed to find out it's a commercial cleaning business with an awesome name.

Public Storage wants to charge me extra to have access to my unit 24/7 as if the building isn't just sitting there 24/7 already. What's next? 1-900 customer service numbers?

Windows had the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). ASP.Net had the YSOD (Yellow Screen...). And now Blazor has the YBOD (Yellow Bar...).

People still block bots and only fans wanna-bes on sight around here, right?

Apparently @cnn.com limits how many free articles you can read now. What that tells me is that I need to not click on the goofy marginal stories they post and avoid the product recommendation posts like the plague.

Whatever replaces Blu Rays needs to come in a protective case like an old 3.5" floppy. Nobody wants to pull their failing movie out to find it covered in thumbprints.

Ran into a rather high string developer a while back that seemed to take the interface is a contract thing a bit too literal. I swear he wanted to sue someone for "breaking the contract".

Why does it have to be so hard to put together a computer these days that doesn't look like it's a fish tank on the Vegas strip?

So I've always known Han shot first in Star Wars. Had to rewatch it when someone claimed otherwise. Han not only shot fist, but in the original, Greedo didn't even get a shot in at all.

If I were an air traffic controller, I'd be taking a look at less hostile work environments outside the US or a similar job not involving working without pay on a increasingly frequent basis for something that isn't the U.S. Government.
At least the military got room and board during the shutdown.

My family does the car naming thing. I recently got an Acadia and we were trying to think of a good name when one of my kids mispronounced the model name. We now call it Canadia. (No "n" on the end.)
