WARNING!!! CUTE CATS!!!

I thought I was making some pretty fantastic high-energy music. I turn around and apparently the Kitties think it’s a lullaby…

Deeply not fun watching a package tracker for your newly ordered synth in conjunction with hoping it gets into the country before some wild tariff swing.

I was looking forward to the Switch 2. I am honestly gobsmacked by the direct, I did not expect to be this excited. I cannot wait to try it out in the LA showcase and get this system as soon as I can.

Leaving the gym and the cycling class sounds like they are riding to the soundtrack to Arrival, wild.

Only one listen in and I can tell the new Spiritbox album is going to get a lot of play this year. Can’t wait to see them live.

I find most sports deeply boring, but I love how wide an array of interests we as humans have. Seeing an Eagles flag flying on a cement truck as it drives by makes me happy, even if I didn’t know the Super Bowl was happening until it was almost over.

I know its too much to ask, but I just wish I could tell an algorithm “yes, give me all the workout and lifting videos, please never send me anything else you deem ‘masculine’. All of that content is deeply boring and no matter what I do, there is always another content slopmaker I have to block.”

The rain is my favorite weather and it amazing to see my fellow Angelenos thriving and as happy for this weather as I typically am.

It is entirely surreal seeing a burnt out restaurant that I’ve had lunch at or a neighborhood I’ve been in that is just completely devastated. So many people are having a deeply rough start to the year.

I was recently able to purchase a sit/stand desk and the ability to raise/lower my arms a little, stand when I’m sore, and raise my desk to a convenient height to run my DAW while recording guitar has been just a mind-blowing QoL improvement.

Seems to be becoming a bit of a tradition to make a 48hr competition horror film for Halloween with some of my very talented friends. Was delighted to just find out I again got a nomination for best score and that out production won best film :)

Composers! Demo reel time. As an audio supervisor for Tencent, I get a TON of them every day, and have started to develop a lot of feelings about how said reels are shown. I wanna talk today about why I feel @reelcrafter.com provides the best solution for this!

I have finally seen The Green Knight, and it was a deeply wonderful mood. Top to bottom, amazing work.

2023 I spent 10 months of the year unable to use one of my hands. I also made some of my biggest career accomplishments, getting music on shows on Netflix and International TV, and getting a best score nom at a film festival. Here’s to 2024 and again having two working hands!

Watching The Man Who Knew Too Much and a character is talking about he’s “not one for this terrible… be, bop.”

Dying.

Marathon watching the Scream movies, and they really hold up.

It is so deeply satisfying to pack up and break down recording gear after a successful session.

Weekend at Bernie’s needs a reboot, gritty realism, let me really see the corpse rotting and raise the stakes up to 11. Grandpa has to attend his grandkids birthday party…at a water park.

All around this country, labor is showing its the one with the power. This year will be in history books, with direct lines all the way back to occupy wall street by the particularly diligent historians. Truly inspired by workers advocating for themselves. Unions.

My grandmother was a child during WW2 and has always been a tomboy that really didn’t like “girly” things. Trying to convince her that Barbie is a movie she would love her was a pretty hilarious experience.

There are two wolves inside you:

One wants the harmonic and rhythmic complexity of Stravinsky.

One wants a 3-note melody and club beat on loop.

The ring modulator should just be described as the thing on your synth that will be what makes your patch sound awesome, and also be the source of some small frequency that makes the patch unusable.

I expected I would enjoy Barbie, but it exceeded any expectations I had. I’m sure many of the kids in the theater will be able to come back to this 5 and 10 years later at different stages of their life and find new meaning in it.

Okay, what federal regulation just expired that explains why I’m suddenly being swarmed with spam calls this week?
