What happened today is awful. People who fight against gun violence, people who loathe what Charlie Kirk stood for, must also condemn political violence. It’s a vicious cycle. This is a very dangerous moment.

NEW: As the White House redirects counterterrorism personnel and funds toward mass deportations, a state-level scramble is on to preserve efforts once supported by Washington.

The result is a patchwork approach that leaves many areas uncovered.

Make no mistake: antisemitic hate inevitably leads to antisemitic violence. Anyone who claims to believe in the dignity & rights of all people has an obligation to name this shooting for what it is — vile & violent antisemitic terror — and to speak out against this increasingly-normalized bigotry.

The Chamberlain Network condemns the attack on Governor Shapiro’s residence in the strongest possible terms. Setting fire to a public official’s home isn’t just criminal—it’s meant to drive people out of public service through fear.

This is a wild abuse of counterterrorism powers
New Rubio order (leaked to me) directs the State Department to spy on student visa holders and applicants social media for "a hostile attitude toward U.S. citizens or U.S. culture (including government, institutions, or founding principles).”

DHS CP3 “gutted”

Some agencies are still firing probationers while others have recalled theirs, following court ruling
There appears to be confusion throughout the Trump administration as to the impacts of the court's decision, with some agencies pausing their personnel actions to assess the fallout.
