The familiar roar of gas-powered leaf blowers will echo through Alexandria’s neighborhoods for one last fall season, as the city approaches a historic ban that takes effect in just less than a year.

However, the transition to electric and other alternative leaf blowers will not eliminate noise.

Some feedback via email on my story says it "seeks drama and division."

I disagree. It educates 4,000+ residents about representation. When RCA says "the Association voted" without noting 59 of 4,136 residents participated, many don't realize they're being represented. They deserve to know.

Last night, fewer than 100 people voted at a Rosemont Citizens Association meeting.

This morning, RCA announced "the Rosemont Citizens Association voted" against bike lanes—putting all 4,136 residents on record.

Here's what you need to know and what you can still do.

I asked Sen. Warner today about NSF staying in Alexandria. He told me he's pleased but says GSA must operate with "greater transparency" going forward. His office also provided me with a response the Senator received from GSA in September.
