When I started with social media, about 25 years ago, I thought it was a good thing that many new people got the freedom to express themselves. A democatization of media, so to say. I must admit I was wrong. Most private opinions should just stay that: private.

Why oh why in 2024 is it still a requirement that the name on a airline ticket is exactly the same as on your id card or passport and otherwise a 'security issue' and reason for bouncing you at the gate? Who thinks this will actually prevent anything?

Ok, let's see if this works: I am of the opinion that Dutch and other european governments should not depend on foreignly owned and administered tech stacks. It is a dependency that gives too much leverage to foreign actors. For example: depending on American tech clouds.

I am wondering if the damage of years of twitter neglect can be undone. I remember having meaningful conversations on twitter, more than 10 years ago. Is that going to come back or did I change too much in the meantime?
