No. It’s another reason why NIMBYs are opposed to a lot of the building that is going on. If a) new buildings fit into their surroundings better and b) didn’t displace long-term tenants, they would get a lot more support.

You missed the 2nd half of my reply. SF is losing older rent-controlled housing that is actually affordable and replacing it with new ‘affordable’ housing with much higher rent. Why is it inhuman to empathize with the evicted tenants?

Maybe a lot of people are objecting on the grounds that they don’t want to look at or live in cheap ugly buildings? That and that older rent-controlled housing is being replaced by this stuff. A double whammy. I live in San Francisco and know a lot of NIMBYs - these are their concerns

The Epstein stuff attacks him from a different front though - a large part of his own cult is very interested in this. People who voted for him for economic reasons are already disillusioned
