Valjan: We just returned from our Kugane tour a month or two ago, so I can't exactly say it's been long enough to feel like home. A'rukay perks his ears up as he notices Valjan turning off down the wrong road. Valjan: But, it is nice here, if that's a better answer to your question. A'rukay pauses. Valjan continues to walk down the wrong road. A'rukay watches him with wide eyes. A'rukay looks down the street, up the stairs, that lead to the Meghaduta. He then looks back at Valjan. Valjan keeps walking, then eventually stops and looks around.

Valjan finds a seat as his coworkers talk to A'rukay. A Midlander woman approaches A'rukay. Midlander Dancer: Sharlayan, yeah? What do you do there? A'rukay, smiling: I work at a restaurant called the Last Stand. The woman smiles at him. A Highlander man behind her also smiles and brings his hand to his chin in thought. Midlander Dancer: Sort of like here! Highlander Dancer: Maybe you should come work with us instead! A'rukay: I'm afraid I must stay with my brother in Sharlayan. He is a student. Later that night, A'rukay returns to the Meyhane. He finds a woman at the door, looking at what appears to be a tomestone. She doesn't even look up. Rhulmeira: Sorry. We're closed. A'rukay sheepishly smiles. A'rukay: Actually, I wa- Valjan, off-screen: It's alright, Rhul. Valjan strides out of the Meyhane, arms wide. Valjan: He's with me. Valjan slings his arm over A'rukay's shoulder and leads him through the doors. Valjan: Hey. Didn't think you'd come. A'rukay: But you invited me. Valjan: That I did. That I did. Valjan stands around a table with A'rukay at his side. Gathered around the table are various dancers and bartenders. With his hands clasped together, Valjan introduces A'rukay with a smile. While walking through Radz-at-Han, A'rukay runs into Estinien. They both approach each other. A'rukay: Estinien. What a surprise. Estinien: Well met, my friend. What brings you to Thavnair of all places? A'rukay explains with a bright smile. A'rukay: Tataru suggested I find a new adventure, one of smaller scale than our usual antics. Estinien looks away with a humored smile. Estinien: You are certainly dressed for adventure, though 'twould be a challenge to find something grander than averting the Final Days. A'rukay: *chuckles* Indeed. Estinien looks back with a friendly smile. Estinien: Is there aught I can do to assist? A'rukay gestures conversationally. A'rukay: I am currently investigating information about the location of Alzadaal's Legacy. Estinien: I see. Quite the sights you have set. Estinien rubs his chin in thought. Estinien: I hear rumors of a merchant in possession of a map leading to the vault's direct location, though today is not a busy for for the bazaar. A'rukay smiles. A'rukay: Ah. Then, I will have to try again tomorrow. Estinien: I shall keep you abreast of any information I come across for the time being. Estinien: Have you found a place to stay? A'rukay looks down in thought. A'rukay: I was going to inquire at one of the inns for a room should I find my stay extended. Estinien: I suggest reaching out to Vrtra. Elder A'mulnhe: And the village has grown complacent from it. They have set down roots without a thought that they might one day need to uproot them. Elder A'mulnhe looks stern, almost scolding. Elder A'mulnhe: The youth know no better, but they have drifted away from tradition in favor of convenience. Elder A'mulnhe looks down. A'vhur and A'nhea look at her with concern. Elder A'mulnhe: However, 'twould be short-sighted to forgo an investigation into their change in migration, but if it reveals no catalyst for their diversion, we shall leave behind what we have built and follow. Elder A'mulnhe looks over at A'vhur. His brows arch. A'nhea looks over at A'vhur. Elder A'mulnhe: Vhur, since you are so eager to volunteer, why don't you investigate the matter? The herds are leaving through the territory you claimed, after all. A'vhur musters a smile and hits his chest with the side of his palm. A'vhur: Uh, of course, Elder A'mulnhe. A'nhea and the two villagers wave at each other before A'nhea ascends up the steps towards the door. Inside the building, A'vhur is looking outside the window with his arms crossed. The door opens behind him, and he turns around to look. A devilish grin stretches across A'vhur's lips and he gestures forward towards off-screen where A'nhea is. A'vhur Nunh: Oh, huh. Elder A'mulnhe invited you too? A'nhea scowls and pushes back his ears. A'nhea Nunh, annoyed: You find that odd?
