Clarification:

It isn't that they don't have ideology, but they are "ideologically flexible" in the pursuit of power and wealth - a common trait of fascists.

(I recommend Paxton's book Anatomy of Fascism where he discusses this. Though he focuses more on power than wealth.)
The best way to understand the current government is as robber barons who are simply plundering the government to make themselves and their friends rich. Any attempt to view it ideologically misses the point.
