Russia's shadow fleet is really only a meaningful phenomenon in the Baltic (gray, top right). The threat to Russia from the G7 oil price cap is greatest here, as it's 100% Russian oil that gets shipped out of Baltic ports. The EU has incredible power over Putin and ... the US...

No 40 ageing intellectual bookshelf. A personal favourite James C Scott, Weapons of the Weak. Ostensibly study of resistance in a Malaysian village but famous for its depiction of sabotage, foot-dragging, evasion, false compliance, pilfering, feigned ignorance, arson, dissimulation, and slander.
