I've used both. Southern Cross covers Mountain Biking, so I use them for that when needed, but prefer Kiwi Holiday.
Kiwi Holiday was extremely supportive during a Med Evac Mongolia back to AoNZ. Refund within 3 months, no issues.

The cat adopted us one winter evening, howling under the rimu tree. The urchins fed it & he moved in.
The white cat is left over from an urchin that has left home, he likes to sleep (a lot!!). The cockatiel is another leftover from another urchin. He helps me by sorting the pins.
