The cat adopted us one winter evening, howling under the rimu tree. The urchins fed it & he moved in.
The white cat is left over from an urchin that has left home, he likes to sleep (a lot!!). The cockatiel is another leftover from another urchin. He helps me by sorting the pins.

I dont wear white trousers, so it's a bit of fluffy situation for the next month until his winter coat is gone.
The hair that comes off while I stroke him, I gather up and peg on a clothesline. The birds use it for their nests. It's normally gone by lunchtime.

The box got full, and with the crazy weather this week, I started my "blue project". I stuck them on the wall, played with them, but didn't like the designs, so I put the squares on "point", and played with that instead. 2/n

Several years ago I was given a bag of blue fabric. I made 8 community quilts from it. I had left over remnants, but as I am not a "blue" person, I had no use for them. When I had time, I made small assorted blocks from these and put them in a box, for future use. 1/n

These don't have icebergs for scale, but it felt surreal watching the waves, as they looked like sand dunes.

The wind howling along at 170kph+ the ship on a huge lean, the all night sun made it feel it was sand dunes, not partially frozen sea.

It’s a wet day so I have been upstairs playing with fabric. Came down to cook a cake.

Yeah, old school. A little bit of nostalgia for company on the drive to the big smoke. Does it matter that I am now hoarse from all my singing along to these fab tunes. Might have even danced in the seat once or more. Drive home on the morrow will be reggae.

Hubs❤️ is cycling in Tibet. Today or tomorrow he will be on this road. 108 switchbacks. He's been at 5,800 m above sea level. Going higher to get to a Everest base camp. I would have loved to have gone too, but I get altitude sickness at 1500m.

I love using batiks. I mix them with other fabrics. I pop them in a bucket of hot water & soak for several hours/overnight. Once the colours have bleed, I tip out the water & do it again. Keep doing this until the water is clear. Sometimes it might take 3 overnights in the bucket.

So.. I was looking for something, & found these. The urchins packed them away in 2018 when I got sick. I had forgotten about them. I cant remember what I was going to do with them. So for now I've stuck them on the design wall to see what will happen.
