Yesterday I ran in the Dick Beardsley 10K in Detroit Lakes, MN. What a great race. I got 9th place & a new PB of 51:33 in my age division. This was my last race of the season. I may do one more local 5K for fun, but this is it for 2025.

What an amazing adventure. I love Ray so much, he’s my biggest supporter. This was my big race of 2025. I have another 5K in August & a 10K in September & that’s it. Time to take it down a notch & recuperate after all that training.

New PB of 2:05:11 (for age & gender). I was 4835 out of 8240 runners overall, 2465 out of 4911 women & I finished 121 out of 313 runners in my age category.

This weekend rayburns.bsky.social & I went to Duluth, MN so I could run in the Gary Bjorkland Half Marathon! It’s part of Grandma’s Marathon, the 10th largest Marathon in the US. We stayed at a dorm at the U of M. I got up at 3:30am to make the bus to the starting line.
Last Saturday I ran the Fargo 10K as part of my training for a half marathon I’m doing. I finished 550th out of 3,207 overall, 258th out of 2,254 women & I was the 21st out of 217 in my age group (top 10%!). No new PB. It was hot & poor air quality but I ran well- & my son ran his 1st half marathon❤️

Today Osage Nation Chief Geoffrey StandingBear signed land into trust documents for +43,000 Acres of the former Ted Turner Ranch located on their reservation. Its the second biggest land into trust acquisition in US history.

I finished my 2nd Half Marathon today. My final time was 2:05:56. New PB. Overall I was 1,062nd out of 3,207 total runners. I was the 442nd female out of 1,941 & for females 40-49 I was 94th out of 470. Basically top 1/3 overall, top 1/4 for females & top 1/5 for my division. Goal is 1:55 next time.

Last weekend I participated in the Run for the Lakes 10K & I got 2nd Place in my Division! I was the 15th woman out of 126 & 49th out of 207 runners in the 10K. My time was 56:02, a new PB. Not too bad—it was a hilly course & it rained until the end. My 2nd Half Marathon next. 🏃🏻♀️

On Saturday I ran the Freeze Your Buns Run 5K! I didn’t get a new personal best, but it wasn’t a closed course so there was traffic to contend with & a fair amount of ice on the road. Still, I managed to finish 1st for women in my age group, 2nd for women all ages & 7th place overall! Good practice.

While in the drive thru at Starbucks this morning the person in line behind me had their cat with them & I thought it was so funny because it looked like the cat was driving. :)
