It's quite the skill to seriously piss off the FBI, the CIA, and Hamas within 48 hours.

For those in the US - this, from the NYT, reassured me a little. Key quote: "Trump is acting like a king because he's too weak to govern like a president."

The Independent being refreshingly unambiguous here. Small steps.

I will maintain until my dying day that this man was single-handedly holding the world together.

I'm 'examining' how to oust MElon as a life form.
(Couldn't bring myself to describe him as a human being. )

It was when she heard Matt Chorley say "and coming up, Richard Tice" that she realised the very fabric of the universe was irreversibly torn, and that all human existence was ultimately pointless. So, as is the Great British Way, she mumbled angrily to herself, and listened to The Archers instead.

Do I really have to do it all again?

Whenever someone moans about the Labour govt, I am taking it a positive. That they can't remember what they thought/felt 5 mths ago, and are so vehemently complaining about now, means there's plenty of time to sort stuff before the next GE. Remembering this will prevent MUCH unnecessary frustration.

This is the blurb for a book called The Cloud by Robert Rivenbark, which Amazon just suggested I might like. I recently searched 'speculative fiction', so I'm guessing that's why, but I actually think it fits better in current affairs / non-fiction. 1

Have just been to see the Dr Strangelove play with Steve Coogan and Giles Terrera. Very well done of course, and completely hilarious - as long as you conveniently forget that everything unfolding on stage is completely believable in our post-satire world 😱

I really wish I could do a PowerPoint for SKS:

Slide 1: Our manifesto
Side 2: Our inheritance ('surprises' highlighted)
Slide 3: Actions so far (massive list, with graphic linking to manifesto)
Slide 4: Our current priorities (graphic linking to manifesto)
Slide 5: Timeline

5 slides. That's it.

As for #euston- I would suggest they try switching it off and switching it on again, but they've already done that twice. I have literally no clue if/when I'm gong to get home today.

Seriously, what on earth can we do about America? Are there ANY grownups left? I'm beginning to feel actually terrified, and I live over 3,000 miles away.

I used to wonder whether the Nazis would have come to power in Germany if the Internet had existed in the 1930s. Unfortunately, it seems I now have my answer. So, next question: what would happen if the Internet existed, came to power, and a significant proportion of Germans had guns?

I'm Labour through and through, but Streeting reminds me of an inexperienced, over-keen, new Deputy Head, who's just sent out a new policy attached to an email, and assumes that everyone will do what it says and congratulate him for fixing everything.

Watching the WH press conference: sanewashing language like "President-Elect" is too reassuring to the casual observer. To reflect a realistic threat level, can all journalists and current officials refer to him as 'President-Elect-Person-Woman-Man-Camera-TV?' Alternative suggestions welcome.

Ok, so I'm trying this again. Is there really a feed devoted to moss, but nothing for musical theatre?

After careful consideration and soul-searching, I have decided to end my free trial with The Telegraph app. It was an attempt to step outside my echo chamber, but I honestly have no idea how people can function if they believe in the kind of world it presents. #FBPE #KTTO #UKpolitics
