I'm still mad about "sixth, seventh, eighth derivative" so here are arguably the most relevant and useful higher derivatives—derivatives of position over time. The first is velocity, second is acceleration, and third is "jerk," or acceleration of acceleration. Then come snap, crackle, and pop.

I wish Levy had pushed him here about whether he thinks there is any foundational difference between the USA and (coincidentally, I guess?) the WWII Axis powers Germany and Japan, specifically w/r/t immigration.

Three different senses of the word "derivative" in one answer, the first underlining his apparent belief that a derivative, mathematically, is somehow a "deeper" or more meaningful understanding of something (it's just an equation for the slope of a different equation at any point on a graph).
