I’m thinking about this because my oldest kiddo is reading about the second great wave of immigration to the USA c. late 1800s for history class, and there was a bit about the Statue of Liberty and Emma Lazarus’ poem “The New Colossus.” 3/4

US history has been one of my special interests since I was a child, and I know a lot of both the good & the bad. Yes, there has always been a very strong presence of colonialism, racism, xenophobia, et. al. But there has also always been a strong current of progressivism and freedom fighters. 2/4

So this piece features two different types of Xerox transfer techniques: the packing tape technique, and the gesso technique.

(once I finally get the New Wave anthology out; I am working on it, it’s just slow going cuz I’m Doing It (all) Myself). But the bonus thing is that now I get to do real Xerox art again, at home no less!
