I live in Rep. Foxx’s gerrymandered district and am going to continue to do what I can with voting and engaging in the political process, but I find myself discouraged. I suppose that’s one of the goals of the gerrymander.

On a related note… one of my comforts as a pastor is when my preaching is off, thankful Jesus always gets the Eucharist right.

As a Lutheran pastor (and big fan of yours), I can’t help but wonder about the line from Fiddler on the Roof, “may God bless and keep the czar…. Far away from us,” and ponder what sort of blessing like that I would pronounce over Rep. Gaetz and his ilk.

Agree. I’ve worked with 5 seminary students doing their vicar year in ELCA congregations. 4 of them are serving in the church and the most recent one is actively interviewing and will hopefully be ordained soon.

ELCA pastor using NRSVUE. I have folks that use several different translations in our weekly Bible study.
