Ladies who are or have been pregnant 100% feel this. Also little kids. And older folks. Past time to stop assuming a 35 year old man as the default...

Also funny how cities will propose elaborate expensive pedestrian tunnels & overpasses to avoid narrowing an intersection and adding speed humps. This tunnel is really car infrastructure, not for peds.

Just saying I guess, even when you do ALL THE THINGS RIGHT places where kids are more likely to exist, such as near parks and schools, need to be designed so that even if a 2-year-old darts into the street THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN. Slow the fucking cars down.

Popping out the fasces above the door in gold is an interesting choice too.

Canada's point system for immigration means that going to college ther then working 2-3 years at your first professional job would make it easy to get a permanent residency that lasts your whole life long, regardless of whether you move back to the states for a while. Pretty sweet.

My high schooler is very interested in University of British Columbia and I gotta say, moving up to Canada doesn't sound like a terrible idea.

100%. It's 'character' all the way down in Clyde Hill.

No, you need a permit to cut. And to get that you need to have the City arborist out to talk about what they think makes sense. So it really depends on what the City arborist feels like. It's completely subjective.

For redevelopment projects Clyde Hill's code requires that applicants do a walk through with the City arborist and come to an agreement together about which trees to preserve as part of a complete landscape design. There are no defined rules but that don't mean you can do whatever with the trees.

I'm the spouse of an air traffic controller and I could not be more livid at the news that Dems might cave. I called and left voicemails for my Dem senators. If my family can hold the fucking line, so can they.

It's past time to de-fang the landmarks preservation board. They are continually 'preserving' dangerous conditions in parks and parkways and people DIE as a result. Not once, repeatedly. Why do we let these myopic busybodies override all of the City's other standards and goals? We don't have to.

Seriously, WTF NY Times? Hitting new lows day by day.

As someone who grew up near Lansing I gotta say the weather here is going to have him walking on air. Also Lansing has serious problems, the school districts in the area are small and heavily segregated by income (and race of course). Seattle might not seem so hard in comparison.
