It's definitely a contender for me, melding the Bozja theme with a feeling of unease and creepiness.

Grandia 2 does have a much more edgy tone, what with all the demon possession and blood and swearing and all. But I found that once Ryudo breaks through his edgy persona and deals with his trauma (via anime means, even if not real life ones), it does still have that hopeful, bright attitude of 1.

I mean only your male Heortlings with the Storm Rune as their primary rune are traditional celt-esque barbarians. You've also got healers who put any white mage to shame, learned sages, expert traders, and stoic death cultists.

In terms of function, it's not significantly different from other noodle soups like chicken noodle, so I say go ahead and include it.
