I got off Twitter in 2022 and got back on here in 2024 because I heard the Denver-local take havers were here now. Current insomniac but don't expect me on here at 3am because that is MY TIME to quietly (and sometimes loudly) freak out and attempt to knit.
You're about to get an earful from my baby, you'd better apologize for this

During the mayoral election, she accused people of "not supporting women" for not supporting Kelly Brough. She didn't seem to care about policy differences btwn candidates, only focusing on id politics. Her statements in this article make me think she's bringing that same energy to her run here.

This year's CrimeCon just happened in Denver, where I live. Reading this article and then scrolling through the list of speakers on their website could only be described as "bleak".

Talk to your pediatrician, but you might be able to get your child vaccinated if they're older than 6 months. I scheduled a same-day appointment to get my 11-month-old vaccinated today.

The person who wrote this email called me today and we chatted, she was very nice and understanding. Sounds like we weren't the only people to withdraw from studies

Got this pretty boilerplate response back from the research coordinator. It's worth noting that, while they say they did this "In order to comply with federal mandates", they are complying in advance under the mere threat of funding being taken away.

Thanks! Yeah it seems like that's the setting he's referring to. Though it sounds like it's moving from an opt-in to opt-out soon, which means any site on Cloudflare will block AI bots by default. That could be huge...

The article is paywalled so I can't be sure what he's talking about but we use Cloudflare on our clients' sites and have had this setting turned on for a while. Our clients are mostly authors, so protecting their IP (which includes book excerpts, author's notes, etc.) is important to us.
