Any homophobes who criticize various groups of individuals and never spent the time to actually get to know some of those people on a personal basis are merely portraying fear of the unknown. If they spent time together they'd soon realize that they have much more in common than they'd ever believe
I (male 53) am an honorary lesbian. I take my dog for his daily walk at the same time as them. We got talking and I fell into their group. Then I realised what I'd done and apologised. They wouldn't have it and even wait for me. They're the coolest club I've ever been in.
