The US Government proposals to gather social media data on people applying to enter the USA is dramatic overreach. I think you may be watching the Football World Cup and Olympics largely on your own USA. Don't bet on a tourist boom. Enjoy the peace and quiet.

It is tragic and alarming that we can no longer count the USA as a friend of the democratic countries of the West, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Everything President Trump has said recently indicates that he now does Putin's bidding. We must respond accordingly.

Trump had been President. He is a convicted felon and sexual predator. He said what he was going to do. Despite that, of the Americans who voted, the majority voted for him. How did the USA become so full of reckless hate?

What does the USA want to do about it?

Congratulations to the Labor Victorian Government (Australia) on the opening of the fabulous new Metro rail line. Great work. Only Labor is capable of getting these things done.

Barnaby, I think its time you took the very brave decision to leave Australian politics altogether, to spend more time with your young second family and your favourite piece of footpath. Time to let a new generation figure out what the Nationals actually stand for. Australia will cope with out you.

Well its not just me - Peter Dutton (ex-Leader Australian Liberal) was truly disliked across the board. But look, there is a real home for Peter and Nigel Farage (UK Reform) in the USA GOP. They'll take any rabid right wing lunatic. A new career Peter!

I've heard from several people that work in international finance that the Russian economy is in real trouble: fighting this pointless war, sanctions, the oil embargoes are working. If Ukraine can just hang on the Russian economy could collapse. Trump's peace treaty might SAVE Russia! Don't sign!
November 27, 2025 at 1:08 AM
Ukraine doesn't need a new treaty - it already has one in the Budapest Memorandum. Russia violated that agreement in the most egregious way possible. Rather than capitulate to Russian demands, the USA (and Britain and France) should be getting even tougher with Russia. Ukraine is being stuffed over.

It is alarming that President Trump constantly needs people to express their gratitude towards him, even when he hasn't actually done anything of worth. To require that level of affirmation indicates that he is a deeply insecure person - perhaps Histrionic or Narcissistic Personality Disorder?

The USA is like a big ugly dumb clumsy kid relative. You have to put up with him but really you just wish he'd go back to the home. At least now he no longer turns up at family gatherings - it means things get done and we have a good time.

All across Australia the Liberals are tearing themselves apart as they search for relevancy. But their purpose is to make the top 1% wealthiest Australians even richer - we all know this. So they shouldn't be coy about it - it's the only thing they have ever really cared about.
