Worth keeping an eye on? I would potentially question the premise that there is so much on the internet that social media absolutely requires an algorithm. It's obviously true that there's too much out there to consume it all, but maybe the solution is PERSONAL curation, not algorithmic curation?

“Last Sunset”. Another experiment with alcohol inks (mixed media). That medium is a little tougher in the colder months, without being able to open a window. Can’t neglect safety! #art #handmade

X Ambassadors show in Ithaca last night - what an amazing energy and fantastic performance. I was really just a casual fan and I was really impressed by their musicianship and authentic joy. So glad we went! #livemusic is the best

The White House's latest effort to bend the Smithsonian to its will is an affront to our country's cultural crown jewel, history practitioners, and the American people. We urge both our field and our audiences to reject this effort and stand up for a full and honest approach to our shared story.
Statement on White House Interference at the Smithsonian
The White House’s latest, most concerted effort yet to bend the Smithsonian Institution to its will through a “comprehensive review” of content and policies—starting with its foremost museums of history, culture, and art—is an affront

#august #journal #drawing. I gave the Posca oil pencils another try. I still don’t have a solid feel for them, but that will never happen if I’m afraid to use them. #fearoffailure

First paddleboard outing of the year - Cayuta Lake (this photo from the inlet). Smallish but nice sized lake for paddling and not a ton of motor boats. Jessie struggled with the heat a bit, but nice to get out!

@booker.senate.gov I applaud your efforts and wish Democrats had stepped up sooner. There were numerous appointments that should have been blocked. Nevertheless, I'm glad someone is finally taking the crisis in democracy and the rule of law seriously. Watch live at www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCUK...

Stop telling me about what he's doing. We can all see it.

Start telling me about what you're doing to stop it!

Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can Pursuing it with weary feet,
Until it joins some larger way,
Where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say.”

I don’t know where I’ve been that I was unaware that #Superbowl half time artists perform for “exposure” (i.e. unpaid). They’re not generally hurting for money or exposure. But I find this outrageous. It reinforces this pernicious request that artists of all kinds are so often faced with. #artiswork

USAID.gov is down. Why is this concerning? Trump has no legal authority to eliminate a congressionally funded independent agency. The work of USAID is vital, and if this can happen to them, it can happen to any of us.
