Mostly a lurker. I rarely post because I don’t typically have much of value to add to the discourse. My favorite feed is Cat Pics!
Sending love to both of you

How sweet! I’m sure your students appreciated your thoughtfulness, and hopefully they got a chuckle out of it as well.

I’d love see it! I’m a fan of non-traditional tree decorating. A rainbow tree sounds quite lovely!

I appreciate your honesty. We all need to reflect on what we got wrong.

My EMDR therapist advised having some sort of grounding practice to come back to at the end of a session. She recommended a visualization - a “safe place” in my mind, so to speak. That didn’t work for me but I did come up with an “after therapy” playlist of songs to help me ground.

As someone with an MBA who works in tech, I whole-heartedly agree. 😂 Though I’m not Catholic, I HAVE been immersed in a spiritual community the past year to help deconstruct much of what I was indoctrinated to believe so I can find a new, more fulfilling (to both me & society at large), career path.

Whew! I can see that as being both exciting and a bit overwhelming. Glad you have your therapist to support you!

Agreed. As a young child I was an avid reader and I vividly remember my older sister telling me, “you talk funny” because I was using words I’d learned in the books I read. I learned to adjust my vocabulary/sentence structure based on who was in the conversation to be more effective in communication
