O(1) chill.
It’s actually weird how that’s largely not even a policy goal for the most part.

It’s really an astounding coincidence that affordability fell shortly after we stopped building enough new housing.

I’m not sure how useful “South” is as an organizer if you have to then pretend Pennsylvania is in the South and ignore Ohio/Indiana and the Plains states.

It’s always “Pennsyltucky” but never “Alabontana” or whatever.

ACA silver plan for 1 adult and 1 child, went from $465 a month to over $1,200 a month. Bronze plans offer so little it would be more cost efficient to put that money aside and pay out of pocket.
My plan is to insure my kid, drop insurance for myself and hope I don't get cancer.

I had completely forgotten about this extremely unique part of the Boston Experience! Have not seen it anywhere else.

Cool. I'm not peacing out because you are responding with facts, but rather because you are offering anecdotal evidence and small numbers of people in a discussion about structural factors and millions of people. Different discussions.

In all seriousness, I cannot tell if you’re trolling now* so I’m going to tap out.

* Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont combined do not have enough Black residents to halfway fill Georgia Tech’s Bobby Dodd stadium in Atlanta.

Broad strokes about any large place contain inaccuracies.

But the data of Black people moving to Georgia and out of MA should be a clue.

As a Black person, you could not pay me enough to live in MA again. Too dangerous.

Absolutely. But if you ask Black people? They move to Georgia and not to Massachusetts. Maybe they see MA has even further to go?

(It’s not possible to achieve the Massachusetts result without an endemic culture of institutional racism in practically every aspect of society.)

GA native here. Maddox was governor ~50 years ago.

In the 2000s, Massachusetts saw fit to organize its society in such a way that the average Black family net worth was not enough to buy a pair of movie tickets.

GA has been on a different trajectory.
