Therefore, our results nuance the conventional view of emotions in far-right voting.

Long term analysis are important as well as taking into account all the emotions. Sadness matters!

Using 4-wave POLAT panel (2020-2023), we examine how emotions tied to the “Most Important problem” (MIP) shape far-right support.

Our Main findings :

🔥Anger has a limited reinforcing effect.

😭Sadness reduces the vote to far-right parties over time.

Anger has long been the main emotion studied in relation to the far-right, especially in the short term.

But what about sadness? Can also influence?
