If the left wants to win in America, it needs a narrative that effectively breaks from the status quo, addresses economic issues and offers an actual alternative to neoliberalism.

In this regard, the democrats have completely failed to effectively message in response to the destructive effects of neoliberalism, because neoliberalism was and is the bipartisan status quo.

Cuts to government spending, tax breaks for corporations/wealthy, more expensive imported goods (which means Dollar Tree and Walmart price increases) but now we will also persecute immigrants and trans people!!

Basically, instead of a political movement which correctly recognizes and denounces neoliberalism, our next phase is just more neoliberalism with a new coat of nativist and anti-woke paint.

Trumpism promises a solution to those issues on a narrative level by blaming immigrants and pledging to implement populist protectionist policies, but a quick look under the surface at departments like DOGE reveals its true intention: a redoubling of neoliberal policy.
