I find a sun-haired woman strong enough to shoulder the coming war and give myself to her—flesh and soul—realizing too late it binds me to being the first to die. But that's okay. I wouldn't want to be Achilles anyways; to bear such grief, such guarded love. All I want is her love, her breath against my skin. To watch the stars together as they fall closer toward us. Maybe, there in the dark, we measure the few days left to us.
