After watching Bluesky's T&S team show their hand and make it clear that they're either unwilling or unable to moderate the place, then watching the people they shafted get mad about it, without channeling that energy into any meaningful action, I've gotta ask...

in practice, this meant it was only in effect for about a month before the shutdown--and so it was probably only applied retroactively. if there is anything i wish about Cohost it's "what would have happened if this was always implemented, or given time to bake"

i think it's going to be really interesting to see how many people here actually learnt their lessons from x and are ready to pack up and go after staff show their hands, and how much of the "you should have left twitter earlier" takes were just empty platitudes
