I am not a Black woman. But thanks in part to Black women, I know that my freedom is linked to the freedom of everyone else and I know that solidarity is the key ingredient to our survival during these times. It is important to recognize that Black women, particularly in the South, have been on the front lines of the fight for justice since the beginning. I’m not supporting these groups to be a hero or a savior. I know that the same systems that oppress Black women also harm me in different ways. Lastly I want to support these organizations as an expression of gratitude to the Black women in my life and many I have never met who have given me more than I can ever repay.

In response to a text from Fix the City, the MAGA billionaire/Bloomberg backed Cuomo PAC I wrote "I wish someone was actually reading this reply because I want you to know how ashamed you should be to be using billions of money to smear a candidate you disagree with. Even if you disagree with Zohran's policies, your antiquated playbook of fear and division is disgusting and no better than Trump. That alone should be disqualifying from running this great city. We deserve leadership not someone who feels entitled to use this as a stepping stone on their rehabilitation tour."

I know this sounds silly but I think the Dems would be better off ripping off their messaging from The Drudge Report than the current feckless attempts we're experiencing.

There’s a housing crisis in Philadelphia. There is a crisis of poverty in Philadelphia. There are dramatically underfunded public schools in Philadelphia. And the Democrats come rolling in with the celebrities, and they have nothing to say about any of that except get out the vote. It is an embarrassment. And people pick up on that.

Shocking that Trump’s second term is following exactly the same pattern as his first. If only some journalistic institution had the power to point out the brazen hypocrisy instead of posing incredulous questions.

This framing continues to infuriate me because we didn't have any concurrent mitigation strategies by the time schools remained closed during the 20-21 school year. Am I missing something here?
