Pennsylvania Justice David Wecht to @boltsmag.org: “The projected victory for the three of us speaks well of our democracy. We all campaigned on the basis of vindicating the Pennsylvania constitution’s free and equal elections clause, and we’re all committed to continuing to vindicate that right.”
Democrats have successfully defended three seats on the all-important Pennsylvania Supreme Court. This means the court will be controlled by Ds through the midterms, and almost definitely through 2028 as well.

Now 8 days to go before the deadline fully passes for local candidates to run in Virginia — and there still only are Republican candidates running for sheriff in the state's two biggest cities, as sheriffs ramp up their cooperation with ICE and federal immigration authorities.

I am a law professor and I endorse this message.
When people break the law, and their actions are righteous and appropriate, we should applaud them. When people abide by or enforce the law, and their actions are repugnant, we should condemn them. We should never pretend the law is a moral dividing line.

For years I've wondered "who's to say what's normal and what's weird?" in this new episode of Social Distance Warriors, my cohost @rtpuppydog.bsky.social firmly settled that question once and for all. It's Mario. Video game plumber Mario is the one who decides what's normal and what's weird.
Social Distance Warriors Episode 63: I'm Never Weird. Not Even Once
Surprisingly, the arbiter of weirdness is Mario.
