Just Me
@rstwohee.bsky.social
Dog-lover, puzzler, and an adequate cook. I rescue / return old family photos. Genealogy is my passion. I love a good family mystery.

Doing the tech support thing these days -- and loving it.
I work in customer support for a tech company and I work hard to understand the issues clients report.

My beef? I sent a detailed bug report w/ video to a company whose software we pay to use. I have had 2 generic responses back from their support. Do people not ready anymore?

Click-bait headlines. Is it time to boycott publications that play that game? What say you @theathletic.bsky.social - Matthews was not booted from the team.

I'm amazed that US politicians don't get why Canadians are boycotting US products and avoiding travel to the US. 5 US senators met with our PM to discuss "fixing the relationship". One would think they would know how to keep the quiet part to themselves. #Never51 #OhCanada

This makes me so very sad. In recent years, I thought that Ohio was progressive but clearly something changed. Stupidity seems to reign supreme there now. SB1 is a travesty and the state populace will suffer for the ignorance of the elected.

Somehow my email address ended up on an R mailing list. It's amazing to me the inflammatory messaging used. Most are lie filled and as always, there's an element to inflame like this one:

Great response to Danielle Smith and her "mandate" to Prime Minister Mark Carney. You can find the author's post on Reddit: www.reddit.com/r/alberta/co...

As I research photos and memorial cards hoping to send home to family, I am constantly reminded of how our society works to diminish the name of women. A typical sample here - In Loving Remembrance of ?

Nothing like Prime Minister Justin Trudeau throwing a little shade after Canada wins the #4nations championship:

I've jumped ship to Bing Maps. Why? Because at least the Gulf of Mexico is properly labeled for those of us outside the US. Apple Maps just 100% capitulated. Google can't seem to make up it's mind.

It's the Gulf of Mexico people!

DEI is a broad topic and more than just race. DEI is important.

I'm amazed at how DEI became the new "bad word". DEI isn't about giving jobs to undeserving people. It's about equity and inclusion. Here's a great list as a reminder that DEI programs create fairness.

Cleaning up files on my computer desktop when I came across this one. It's the back of an old photo. The photographer mentions how different colors will appear in a photo (dark, light, etc).

This is my hobby - rescuing old photos and returning to family. I research to determine who is in the photo & if there are any descendants.

If you haven't setup feeds to follow, you're missing out on great ways to get around BlueSky. So much easier to be on BlueSky than other social media sites. You just need to have a little patience with the setup.
