I enlarged the scene and maze, raised the camera for better visibility, and added a memory counter in the top-left corner. I also dropped the 2D sprite idea again, since it didn’t fit the style, a small 3D character will make more sense and I may add it in the future.

So I added some free models I found online into the scene duringt the festival I noticed that some people weren’t in a hurry to reach the end of the maze, they were hanging around outside of the maze.

I saw someone who also making a 2dTopdDown game using animated sprites as the players, so I wanted to try that too. But I had trouble getting the animation to work, and I didn’t want to spend too much time on it and lose time for the rest of the game, so I decided to skip it.

So my 2D top-down game was meant to look like those kinds of rpg Maker games, but it ended up more like our class projects with 3D objects. Since it's top-down, the 3D elements didn’t really add much to the gameplay experience.

Ambivalence is a short abstract side scroller game which player can control two sides of the wall, one is red and the other one is pink, the player’s goal is to carefully control both walls in order to stay trapped between them for as long as possible.

this game pongs looks like a Pong clone, but it’s actually very different. Instead of controlling paddles to bounce the ball, players rely on a QTE mechanic.

It feels like someone walking alone through deep snow, crossing layer after layer of barbed wire, leaving bloodstains in their wake. I really love this kind of minimal but deeply atmospheric expression.

This game has very unique art style, the player control the snake in the middle of the screen, collecting the red dot and avoid enemies. Players control multiple snakes at the same time.

These 3 games are all zero player game, these games focus on the particle and simulate the effects of the snow, water and wind.

After finishing the project, I noticed that no matter how I adjusted it, the version on itch.io always appeared slightly small compared to how it looks in Unity, the edges of the game don't fully fit the screen, and I'm not sure how to fix that.

I eventually decided to build on the Pong clone introduced in class, expanding and refining it by adding things like scoring system and f a gradually accelerating ball. Figuring out how to make the ball speed up properly actually took me quite a while.

When I think of arcade games, the first things that come to mind are fighting games and versus games.

In terms of the result, I feel there's still a lot more I could add like background images corresponding to different scenes or more locations . In this project's code, I've also included a small hidden variable that could potentially influence the storyline and endings.

I think making a game of this type feels quite similar to something I've previously done with Twine. For interactive fiction or narrative-driven games like this, Twine might actually be more convenient—especially considering I'm not particularly skilled at programming.

I'm creating a zombie-themed game inspired by the TV series The Walking Dead and the board game Zombicide.

I had thought like making something simple like a rock-paper-scissors game and I did make a short version of it. But later I felt it would be better to create something a bit more interesting.

But then I felt like that idea didn’t really make sense or feel intuitive, so I changed it to the player interacting with a small program on a computer. But at the time, I still hadn’t figured out what the program would be.

My first idea was to make a movie theater, and then it would be like one of those interactive movie games where the player gets to make choices.

I still have a lot of ideas, but due to my current familiarity with Unity, I wasn’t able to fully express everything I had in mind. I hope in future projects, I’ll be able to better translate my ideas into the work.

At first, I was planning to create a walking simulator set in an indoor environment, or maybe expand on the maze project I worked on last time. But eventually, I decided to go with an outdoor setting instead, because for me the outdoor setting better present and capture the feeling.

My Unity FPS controller sometimes just stops working like can’t move or do anything. It started happening last Thursday, and I’ve had to restart my project from beginning several times because of it. I just found out switchmy Unity to 2022.3.21 can let it working again.

This game is Out for Delivery.
It looks like the game developer is following a food delivery guy and filming the him for like 40 minutes. Kind of like a documentary film of that time.
