This is so true. Lecturing in English (my second language) is now more or less as easy as in Dutch, but in German (language 3) even after eight years, a one hour lecture still just drains the energy.

The main value added by the publication is ostensibly the peer review and editorial curation process. If this sort of thing is passing review, what is the journal even for? How is subscribing to this journal any better than monitoring a preprints feed? Subscribers should demand their money back.

Het is mogelijk pas volgende week bekend welke politieke partij het grootst is geworden. Het verschil tussen D66 en PVV is zo miniem dat de stemmen uit het buitenland de doorslag kunnen geven.

I'm so sorry, Suayb. Things like this remind me of when I just moved to Bavaria, and my upstairs neighbour rang my doorbell to warn me that "foreigners moved into the building". When I said "I know, I am not German", he said "No, you are OK, I mean the other kind..."
