Wifey and I ate breakfast out this morning (Funck’s, Palmyra), and as we were getting ready to leave the overhead music was De La Soul’s “Roller Skating Jam Named Saturdays”. #DayMade

The Grammy people are apparently splitting the Best Country Album category into Contemporary and Traditional categories. I think it's great that the stadium-filling sugar-shaker keg party boys who make lousy pop records but sing with Southern accents can have their own category.

The copy machine ten feet from my current location is ticking. Should I be concerned?

A guy at the desk next to mine is on a call, and he just asked the party on the other end, in a very calm, low-key voice, “You’re what?” And immediately in my head, I heard … #TIIIIINROOF #rusted

In a conference room I’m not used to, with a floor whose slickness I’m not used to. Pushed myself away from the table and almost smashed through a wall, like the Kool Aid man, only backwards and in a chair. #OhYeah

Wow. Don’t ever take the two-time defending champion for granted, no matter where they’re seeded. They didn’t win, but that was a helluva game. #FlaUCONN

So much anxiety and bad news to deal with the last couple months. Grateful to visit several of my happy places this long-ish weekend.

Shane Gillis isn't funny.

Tate McRae is yet another empty pop product, this time in a Britney Spears costume.

SNL's writers are still really tired from the whole #SNL50 weekend.

And Shane Gillis isn't funny.

I’ve long thought that Bon Jovi was king of cramming cliches into a single song (“Raise Your Hands”). I was wrong. I’ve just stumbled upon Pablo Cruise’s “Raging Fire.” You and me living in harmony with the fire taking us higher with our desire etc. Falling in love again it’ll never end … Wow.

I’m losing my taste for Starbucks. I just bought a grande Pike Place, and it tastes like burnt timber. And it’s not the first time this has happened. What has happened to me? What is wrong with me? Am I sick? Am I winding down? What the hell, people?

I have a new Vinyl Diaries column over at Popdose; it has a Spotify embed with some cool, mellow '70s and '80s tuneage the gods of shuffled playlists laid on me yesterday. Enjoy.

David Byrne, St. Vincent, & Arcade Fire doing Bowie’s “Heroes” is hair-raising stuff. In a good way. #SNL50

For years we were able to tell when my father-in-law made coffee, because there'd be grounds at the bottom of the pot. When Sarah or I would do that, we'd joke that her dad broke into our house, made a pot of coffee, then left.

Now we don't know who to blame.

It's the little things, people.
