I’m consistently amazed every time I put on an Isaac Hayes record. In addition to his own wonderful music, so many of the songs I loved in the 90’s and 2000’s are built off of samples of his work. This morning it was his album “…To Be Continued” and the Massive Attack song “Exchange”.

Just saw that Les Baxter’s daughter made a post in the Facebook Exotica group and it’s absolute pandemonium for those mid century nerds. (myself included) I haven’t seen this sort of uproar since Ursula1000 posted his bandcamp link

So far, no one has presented a valid reason that I shouldn’t call in sick, cancel all appointments, and spend the day listening to Isaac Hayes while day-drinking.

Hot take: The Shaft soundtrack and a follow-up third movie, Shaft Goes to Africa are badass soundtrack albums. But the sequel…. Shaft’s Big Score? Not so much.
