Honestly when I said Ghibli I really should have said Miyazaki as I feel anything by Takahata would be too artsy for these people. A part of me kind of hates grouping Ghibli with Hollywood, but a lot of people saw Spirited Away at an impressionable age and never ventured further beyond that.

The sheer hostility some people show for animation that isn’t from Hollywood or Ghibli astounds me. They just love loudly announcing “I am a fundamentally incurious person and proud of it.”

They were all really good announcements so it was worth the wait.
