Yesterday I siphoned some water from a butt that fills quickly to a butt that fills slowly in anticipation of heavy rain today.

Soot blackened Haworth should remain gritty and soot blackened. Why isn't the North blackened any more. It was as it should be. And what happened to the bow legged old man, marked by childhood rickets who I used to see somewhere near Slaithwaite sixty years ago. There was beauty and a tale to tell.

In doing so they have the spiritual awakening of spending half the journey walking towards Solihull, and the other half walking away.
