I’m horrified by the shootings targeting Minnesota lawmakers, including Senator John Hoffman and State Rep. Melissa Hortman.

Violence is never the answer. Never.

I'm holding everyone affected by this attack in my heart.

Horrifying news out of Minnesota this morning as political violence takes the lives of Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark. @Chasten and I are holding their loved ones in our hearts and praying for State Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette as they recover.

Listened to this podcast episode on Erich Fromm's Escape from Freedom and theories on authoritarian personalities...it was interesting enough that I might track down the book and read it. Any thoughts?

Listening to the audiobook of
Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries. I didn't have any materials with winter scenes so settled for some other fairy papers..

Listened to the audiobook of this, and it was delightful! I really enjoyed how Emily interacted with the villagers, her awkwardness, and funny responses. The fairy stories are a mix of whimsy and horror. Bambleby is sweet, and I like the slow burn relationship. Definitely reading the next one!

I care deeply about who Michigan will elect as Governor and send to the U.S. Senate next year, but I have decided against competing in either race.

I wrote more here about my decision and how I view the work required of us all in this moment:

Whether you changed your name because you got married or any other reason, the SAVE Act could keep you and millions of others from being able to vote.

Stop the SAVE Act
