Another ~9,000 Microsoft layoffs today. My sympathies to those whose careers are taking an undeserved detour! And to those remaining, whose day to day at Microsoft now involves looking over their shoulders too much

- death of a friend, CFO of my best client, at 57, heart-attack in office parking lot.
- executive who offered me a promotion died of a heart-attack in shower, at 62.
- my former mentor, who retired early, was diagnosed with a terminal disease 5 years later.

I’d not be doing social media at all if it wasn’t part of the ‘being a conscientious author’ job description. By which I mean, an author who wants to help their publisher get their book read by as many people as possible. But what’s my book about, and where did it come from?
