we're going to create Digital God™️but it will only be accessible through Microsoft Copilot in Teams and also may occasionally tell you to create mustard gas to get a stain out of your cardigan

Shohreh Aghdashloo, I think.

your use of hashtags is almost as infuriating as the idea you're pushing here

both of which are just totally out of touch

Steam Machine definitely will hinge on its pricing. If Frame is price competitive with the Quest, it will easily conquer the VR space with even a small amount of marketing.

Steam Controller is going to be massive and I foresee it being ubiquitous in the PC community, usurping the Xbox controller.

In a good place. Modest but healthy userbase, feeds work exactly as they should, feels like Twitter in the golden age as far as actual features and daily use goes. Just needs some more of the big names that I follow (mostly Capitol Hill/DC reporters, but that's a niche need).

Right. I'm all for new blood, particularly in the aged Dem ranks, but jumping straight to a high-profile Senate race as your first foray, and at a time when we can't really afford many losses...not great.

Since the sale, I've kinda dropped Polygon. My main gaming content is discussion on Reddit and listening to Triple Click, at this point.

I don’t get how they tried to make a game about NATO falling apart, a PMC filling the void that’s left and aligning with several former-NATO powers, and an attack on the U.S. homeland, apolitical…while *everything* is going on IRL, including the US waffling on NATO…AAA studios faceplant on this.

this is unironically how the left wins the culture war tbh

This is the coolest thing I've seen in Star Wars besides the not-Halo in BoBF.

LA and DC are in G, I think. Choose them and you’ve got the cuisine of pretty much every culture globally (LA more so than DC by a good bit).

...I'm baffled by how he knows that Grunts and Elites are entities within Halo but somehow not what they are???

both numbers are good. low viewership for cable news, high viewership for Greatest Gen, wins all around!!!

I'm just saying it was consistent with the writing-- I would've liked to have seen it leave out the whole "serum makes you adopt social traits" thing, and have the crew instead simply struggle with the bio adaptations.

Plenty of "is this really what it smells like?" jokes to be made either way.
August 28, 2025 at 3:25 PM
Right, but the episode has a line of dialogue that the serum does through ~space magic~ cause the adoption of common social traits. Only reason the whole thing doesn't fall apart for me.
August 28, 2025 at 3:22 PM
I think it just feels less weird to me since the Romulans we've seen in this era have pretty much universally been distrustful and aggressive, so it's less of a jump that La'an would adopt those traits given what we know of the serum.

W/o the serum explanation tho, the biodeterminism is gross.
August 28, 2025 at 3:21 PM
Right. I think it's the suggestion that the Romulans were Vulcan augments that makes the difference here, which I think makes sense, if we go with the show's explanation that the Kherkovian serum does cause the adoption of social traits (which the show says it does, if I'm not mistaken).
August 28, 2025 at 3:21 PM
We know the Romulans are pretty aggressive and paranoid. Couple that with the almost childlike extremism of those personality traits the others adopt, and it feels totally reasonable that she takes distrust and suspicion to "we need to proactively start a war to kill the Gorn."
August 28, 2025 at 3:05 PM
...well, not exactly. Her augment DNA means that she goes Romulan when hit with the Kherkovian serum, not Vulcan (which, I guess, proves the "Romulans are Vulcan augments" theory). The same way the others adopted Vulcan social traits (commented on in the ep), she also appeared to adopt Romulan ones.
