Just settling into Hammer’s ‘The Hound of the Baskervilles’ in preparation for the upcoming episode of Hammer Time.

First impressions: that’s one hell of an opening (the bastard had it coming)!

Looking forward to @eofftv.bsky.social’s and @bunnydarke.bsky.social’s discussion.

My news feed has started showing me articles sourced from alternate realities, which is quite impressive really.

I really enjoyed Hallow Road. Excellent performances of a couple of quite irritating characters. A kind of bonkers story that keeps you hooked regardless. Zips along at a well utilised 1 hour 20mins. #HallowRoad #Horror #Film #Movies

I really liked both chapters of Muschietti’s ‘IT’ screen adaptation, so I’m really looking forward to this. I love the concept of three series each covering different eras.

I’ve been reading Stephen King books since I was 13, but I’ve never read ‘IT’ before. I’m still less than a third of the way through but can see why it has such a lofty reputation. Nobody comes close to King’s horror writing. What a legend!

Five years ago - the beard had gone so that I could wear my (dodgy Tory) PPE while working on intensive care, though, sadly, my attempts to mine for rare and valuable bog rolls left me sore and empty handed.

That’s three, but all top of the list for me.

A lot of horror focuses on the aging process - often making the elderly as objects of horror themselves. The Rule of Jenny Pen takes a different approach. It’s a gruelling watch at times but its exploration of helplessness and vulnerability is pertinent and refreshing. #TheRuleofJennyPen

Since Game of Thrones made fantasy TV socially acceptable to the wider public and financially attractive to producers there have been loads of fantasy shows made. Some better than others. For my money the Wheel of Time adaptation is one of the very best. Great stuff.

I think this is the best photo I’ve ever taken. She was sitting on the windowsill of a very strange holiday home we rented in Torquay (2017). I was obsessed!

I re-watched Puppet Master, for the first time since the 90s and that definitely qualifies. It holds up way better than I was expecting. I lot of fun, and a great distraction (while it lasted!).

Okay. I’m ambivalent at best about rugby, but I love owls. 90s me is very jealous of 90s you!!! Here’s one my wonderful wife painted instead.

‘Happy Hellidays’ now available from Hellbound Books. This anthology contains some plenty of horror to see you through the whole year, covering Easter, Thanksgiving, Xmas, and more. It’s also the only way to read my most recent story ‘A Winter’s Return’.
