I hope Bluesky’s business model will match the culture that is forming here. Leverage the goodwill.
If so, BS should engage users ASAP in a discussion: offer no ads, no data/surveillance in exchange for subscriptions. Users will pay to avoid repeating Twitter nightmares.

Thank you @moonalice.com for suggesting a subscription to keep BlueSky free from ads and data surveillance. I primarily lurk but would happily pay a minimum of $12/year for a user-friendly platform. Asking @jay.bsky.team and her amazing team to make this happen!

People can debate what Jimmy Carter's political legacy was. But his human legacy was an astoundingly positive one, worthy of deep admiration.
